Indien antibiotische behandeling geïndiceerd is: bij cholecystectomie of goede drainage: 48 uur behandelen, bij onvolledige drainage 10-14 dagen.

Opties voor orale uitbehandeling in geval onvolledige drainage (onvoldoende source control): amoxicilline/clavulaanzuur 3dd 875/125 mg po. Bij een bekende penicilline-allergie: cotrimoxazol 2dd 960mg p.o. + metronidazol 3dd 500mg p.o.
