General comments
Bij goede respons kan na 1-2 dgn behandeling worden geswitcht van intraveneuze naar orale behandeling. Orale behandeling dient op nuchtere maag te worden ingenomen. De totale behandelduur bedraagt 10-14 dagen, afhankelijk van klinische en biochemische respons.
Bij recidiverende erysipelas, overweeg behandeling van eventueel aanwezige S. aureus dragerschap te behandelen. Daarnaast is aandacht voor risicofactoren van erysipelas essentieel en kan bij meerdere recidieven een profylactische systemische behandeling dan wel tijdige zelfbehandeling (on demand) worden overwogen in overleg met de internist-infectioloog en/of arts-microbioloog.
